The general goal of the project is to protect and adapt cultural heritage objects for new activities, to foster traditional crafts, to create a loyalty program for cross-border cultural and tourism institutions, to take care of its dissemination and promotion in order to increase the number of visitors in the Programme area. During the project implementation, the project participants will perform building restoration works (e.g., restoration and adaptation of Daugavpils Fortress 7th Bastion underground for the ceramic funds of Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Center), premises repair and adaptation to new expositions (e.g., Polotsk Tourism Information Center and Heritage Center), organize large-scale international events (such as ceramics symposiums, historical reconstruction and craft festivals), acquire tools to achieve the objectives of the planned activities and share experiences, thus stimulating people’s interest in history and traditions, helping them to gain new experiences and knowledge and discover new leisure activities.
Source of funding
The total budget of the project – 1 017 712 EUR, of which 90% is European Union support (915 941 EUR).
Part of Panevėžys Civic Art Gallery – 190 170.23 EUR, of which 90% is European Union support (171 153 EUR).

The 2014-2020 European Neighbourhood Instrument Cross-border Cooperation Latvia-Lithuania-Belarus Programme fosters synergistic partnership of the Latvian, Lithuanian and Belarusian organisations with the financial support of the European Union. The strategic goal of the Programme is to strengthen relations, raise capacities and share experience among people and organisations through implementation of joined actions, which focus on increasing the overall quality of life in the border regions. The EU funding to the Programme is 74 million EUR.
